NAC3MPA-1 NUETRIK CONNECTOR – 20A Blue Power-In Chassis Panel Mount Outlet

The NAC3MPA-1 NUETRIK CONNECTOR (part of Neutrik’s renowned powerCON® A-Type series) is an industry-standard, panel-mount AC power inlet receptacle designed for high-current equipment connections. Rated for 20 A RMS at 250 V AC, this 3-conductor chassis connector features dedicated contacts for line, neutral, and a pre-mating protective earth ground.

As shown in the product image, the connector is housed in an A-Type blue plastic shell with a standard D-shape mounting footprint, a quick-lock steel latching mechanism, and 3/16” (4.8 mm x 0.5 mm) flat tab Faston terminals on the rear. The blue housing specifically designates Power-In connections. Color-coding and mechanical keying prevent cross-mating with grey Power-Out (B-Type) chassis sockets.

Key Features of the NAC3MPA-1 NUETRIK CONNECTOR

  • Power-In Keying (Blue Housing): Mechanical keying ensures that only matching blue NAC3FCA power-in cable plugs can connect, eliminating power loop errors.

  • Quick Lock Twist-Latching: Features a fast and secure twist-lock latching system with a steel retention element to prevent accidental disconnects from vibrations or cord tugs.

  • High Current & Voltage Rating: Rated for 20 A RMS continuous current per contact at 250 V AC (under EN 61984 and UL 1977 standards).

  • Pre-Mating Ground Safety: Designed with a protective earth (PE) ground contact that engages prior to circuit line contact during plug insertion.

  • Standard D-Series Mounting Footprint: Fits standard D-shape chassis cutout profiles for easy panel installation in rack chassis, equipment housings, and amplifier backplates.

  • Silver-Plated Bronze Contacts: Fitted with 2 mu m  silver-plated bronze contacts for ultra-low contact resistance (le 3 m Omega) and reliable conductivity over 1000 mating cycles.

Common Applications and Industrial Usage

The power handling, secure locking, and compact build of the NAC3MPA-1 NUETRIK CONNECTOR make it an essential component across multiple industries:

  • Professional Audio Amplifiers & Active Speakers: Functions as the primary AC mains input connector for rackmount amplifiers, powered line-array modules, and stage monitors.

  • Stage & Architectural Lighting Fixtures: Installed on intelligent moving heads, LED wash lights, and dimmer racks for secure power distribution.

  • Video Walls & LED Screens: Serves as the main power input feed for modular LED video wall panels and video processor racks.

  • Industrial & Flight Case Power Distros: Deployed on custom power distribution units (PDUs), rack panels, and mobile stage boxes.

Installation Guidelines and Best Practices

CRITICAL SAFETY NOTICE: The powerCON® system is a connector without breaking capacity (CBC). The NAC3MPA-1 NUETRIK CONNECTOR must NEVER be connected or disconnected under active electrical load or while live!

  • Rear Termination: Use insulated 4.8 mm (3/16”) FASTON receptacle crimps for secure connection to the rear tabs, or solder leads directly to the flat pins.

  • Panel Mounting: Secure the connector using standard M3 screws or pop rivets through the diagonal mounting holes on the D-flange.

  • Torque Limit: Do not exceed 0.5 Nm torque when fastening rear wiring connections.
