An OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) launch cable, also known as a “launch fiber” or “fiber ring,” is used to eliminate the dead zone in OTDR testing by allowing the device to measure the insertion loss and reflectance of the first and last connections in a fiber link.
- Available in single-mode or multi-mode fiber types
- Standard lengths: 150 m, 500 m, 1 km, or customized
- Connector types: SC, LC, FC, ST (PC, UPC, or APC polish)
- Durable, portable case for field use
- Helps accurately characterise near-end and far-end fiber events
- Low insertion loss and back reflection
- Complies with industry testing standards (e.g., IEC, TIA/EIA)
- Ideal for OTDR calibration, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks
